Upcoming Workshops:
July 25 Introduction to Cyanotype: Botanical Sun Printing at Brookfield Craft Center

About the Process

These prints were made using the cyanotype (blueprint) process. The paper is brushed with an iron salt solution and dried. Objects are then placed directly on the sensitized paper and exposed to sunlight which reacts with the chemistry to create the blue color. After exposure, the unexposed iron salts are washed away leaving the paper white where leaves and flowers blocked the sun. Each print is handmade and unique.
